    Kr6ng,

It looks like a late Inland. The angle you took the pic from makes it difficult, but I have dot matches on six different rows.

Anyone else want to take a stab at it?

Looks like a S'G' Grand Rapids to me. Are there any stampings on the side?

I don't have my books with me but the "splattering" around the top of center hole looks like an S'G' to me.

    Kr6ng,

That second picture really helps everyone. It is a late Inland/Saginaw SG.

    1. Three dots up before start of next row with a ¼ dot
    2. Partial Imprint Dot on left side bottom row
    3. Partial imprint dot on right side of bottom row
    4. Partial dot on right side of next to bottom row with weak or no dot on corresponding left side
    5. Three dots up before start of next row with a ¼ dot
    6. Right side from 1st complete row (bottom half) it has three full dots and a ½ dot
    7. In center, both sides, two rows of half dots adjacent to screw hole
    8. On right side, first complete row (upper half) 8 ½ dots up
    9. Right side, second row in, 4 ½ dots up past outer row

Bill, I think the S’G’ has a extended column of half dots on the left side of the butt plate that this one does not seem to have. Plus the S’G’ has a 5 ½ dot on the second from bottom row.

Kr6ng, hang with finding one... I seem to get all kind of mismatched plates when I get new stocks.

I am getting where I need bigger pictures and even bigger glasses!!!!

    Kr6ng,

I believe you have a late winchester.

    1. Left side, upper half, from 1st complete line 7 full dots, 1 half dot and ¼ dot
    2. Left side, bottom half from 1st complete line, 2 ½ dots
    3. Left side, bottom half, from 1st complete line, second line in, 6 dots, ½ dot, ¼ dot.
    4. Left side, bottom half, from 1st complete line, third line in, 11 ½ dots.
    5. Second row from bottom, four full dots.
    6. Bottom row, 2 full dots, 2 half dots
    7. Right side, bottom half, from 1st complete line, third line in, 11 ½ dots
    8. Right side, bottom half, from 1st complete line, second line in, 7 ½ dots
    9. Right side, upper half, from 1st complete line, 6 full, one half, 1 quarter and one nub.
    10. Right side, upper half, from 1st complete line, second line in, extends 4 ½ dots up
    11. Right top at 1 o’clock, ½ dot then 2 dots, then top line.

    Hope that helps....

Anyone else want to take a shot it?
