    Unhappy Thought I had a P-14???

    Hi Fellas
I bought a M1917,it has been converted to 303/25 by the previous owner,I have had it in my gun safe for a month(Been Sick)so did not have a good look at it,pulled it apart and tried a empty 303 round in it and it would not close on that or even fit on the bolt head,.303 won't fit in the magazine, but 30/06 do.

Looks like it is a M1917,just been rebarreled to 303/25 and nothing else.

What would be involved in getting it to accept .303 case in the magazine and the bolt, although the bolt does not seem to have much metal around the face of it anymore?,maybe a home job???

I WANT to rebarrel it to .303Epps,that's why I bought the bloody thing,I think the gunshop might have ripped me off.
    I suppose I could rebarrel it to a 30/06 based cartridge,any suggestions?
    I have a 30/06,maybe a 338/06 or a .270

    But I do want a .303 Epps,help

    Red face Oops!

    Hi Fellas
I feel a bit red faced at the moment,me and a mate of mine,we went through my collection of old ammo, found a couple of rounds of 303/25,yep,you guessed it,they feed and extract perfectly out of the magazine

Instead of staying calm and doing like a mate suggested,I rang the gundealer and gave him a piece of my mind, but to his credit,he said he would fix it for me,he had enough spares on hand to make it cycle a .303 round based cartridge, for nothing, that is good of him
Now I have to ring him up and apologise to him

So all is goodno thanks to me
    So I do have a P-14

    Cheers

    So maybe it is a M1917,with a P-14 bolt,but no matter.
