Just bought a K31, man is it neat

Walked into a gun shop a couple of hours ago and he has a K31icon on the rack.

This thing is matching serial numbers, almost virgin wood, and all the bluing is still there.
Has the muzzle guard still in place and a really nice sling, although I doubt if it is original.
Bolt is as smooth as glass, bore is shiney like chrome, deep rifling, smooth muzzle. Even the clip looks unused, hardly any marks from sliding into and out of the weapon.

Need to get some ammo and go to the range.

Now I need to learn all about this wonder from the land of Cheese.

    Congrats to you!

You have an excellent rifle and you can do some more than shooting the holes in the Swissicon cheese! Remove the buttplate, sometimes there is a tag with the name and the regiment of the former user in it. If you can get it, buy the GP11 ammo it is really accurate with the original ammo.

    Have fun

GP11 is the surplus Swissicon ammo. Unlike most surplus ammo from other countries, the swiss GP11 is non corrosive and really accurate. My K31 loves it. I got my ammo from Classic Arms Inc. they just got some in for $34.99 per 60 rounds. Also check J&G Sales

Thanks for all the help with the ammo. I just found GP11 at Sportsmans Guide for 57.93 per 120 rounds. 174 grain spitzer, berdan primed, non-corrosive Swissicon military production. It's on it's way to my house right now.

I purchased a Swissicon K31 last year for $325.00. It was mint for the most part. I did refinish the walnut stock for the new, new look. Shoots great, looks great. Worth every dime. Sherman

If you are going to reload, Prvi Partisan makes some pretty good ammo, my K-31 shoots really well with it!!
