I'm deeply saddened. Beerhunter was a valued expert, and personally discussed his knowledge of an Enfield I own from the Combined Cadet Force for which he served as an Armourer. I know his contribution to museums will also be dearly missed.

Mr. Alexander “Sandy” Scott 1920 – 2016.

Sandy served with the 4th Bat. Kings Own Scottish Borderers 52nd Division during WWII as a Small Arms Instructor and Sniper Sergeant. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for over 50 years.

Retired Lt. Colonel Marine Corps, Vietnam, recipient of the Air Medal 3rd Award and two purple hearts.

Loving father of John (Theresa) and Timothy.

Hugh Wadsworth Brock

January 7, 1943 - April 25, 2016

Hugh Wadsworth Brock, of Bostwick, Georgia, passed away April 25, 2016. He was born 7 January 1943 at Emory University Hospital, the son of Ignatius Wadsworth Brock and Mary Will Weaver Brock. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary L. Ferris Brock.

From an early age he had a Fascination of military collectibles and their historical significance. He was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout as a youth. He graduated from Druid Hill high school in Decatur, Georgia and later graduated from Emory University with a Bachelor of the Arts in History on 19 March 1966. He enlisted in the US Army, went to officer training, and graduated from Armory School in 1967. He served with Calvary Armed units in Germany during his time.

After serving 3 years he chose to remain in Sheffield, England where he designed and made knives for a year. He came home and opened Brock's Army Surplus in Decatur, Georgia; same location for thirty years. The surplus business gave him the opportunity to pursue his passion of 20th Century Military collectibles. Hugh had a philosophy about his collecting that every item was researched by all available means, creating a trust with the clients. His hospitality, candor and honesty allowed him to gain a lifetime of loyal friends and customers over the years with whom he has communicated with and influenced. He was an avid reader, multilingual, and an exceptional detailed historian

Graveside Services will be held 11:00 Saturday, April 30, 2016 in the Old Roswell Cemetery, 100 Woodstock Street, Roswell. A reception will be held, following the service, at Roswell Funeral Home, Roswell.

I've known Hugh Brock since 1957. Don't remember how we got acquainted, but probably thru adds I ran looking for WW 2 German stuff. I had kept in contakt with him sporadicly by phone & mail thru the years and visited him once in Ga.

It it with deep sadness I have to announce the death of a valued forum member and highly respected author.

Clive died in Ottawa on Saturday, June 10th, 2017, as the result of a stroke which occurred a week earlier ..... far too young at the age of 63.

Clive was President and sole employee of Service Publications of Ottawa, Canada, as well as being a valued contributor to many Knowledge Library articles and supporter of our site.



His main interest was the Canadian Army in both World Wars, including the uniforms and insignia, the vehicles - both tracked and wheeled - manufactured in Canada, and especially the small arms, optics and other technical equipment. At times he reenacted as a WWII Canadian War Correspondent.

Update: For those that are able to attend, the funeral has been confirmed for Saturday June 17th at the National Military Cemetery at Beechwood in Ottawa (280 Beechwood Ave, Vanier ON K1L 8A6). Visitation will take place from 0900-1000hrs followed by the service at 1000hrs and interment of the ashes immediately following.
