Sad news. Clive's death is a big loss to the military collector's community. I, and I'm sure many here, have several of his publications on our bookshelves. He was clearly passionate about military history - especially Canadianicon military history.

That is terribly sad news Doug and as you say far too young.

Clive leaves a fine body of work that will continue to inform generations of collectors and historians to come.

G/Sgt. R. Lee Ermey has report to heaven for his new duty assignment. He passed away this morning from complication from pneumonia at the age of 74. He was a perfect fit for his role in Full Metal Jacket as well as his show on TV. He was seen often at shooting events and always with a smile for young and old. He will be missed.

Saying Farewell To One Of The Bama Gang

    I found out yesterday that...
We've lost a long time member of the Carbine community.
On October 24th 2018 good friend and my earliest mentor Charles Waldrop passed away.
He was a long time resident of the Birmingham, Ala area.
One of the Original Bama boys.

Known on the ole Joustericon forums as Charles,Bhama.
He came here with most of us when Milsurps opened the door. He only posted a few times here under the username Charles,Ala because about that time he like many of us had got caught up in the Black Rifle craze but never lost his interest in US Military Arms.
Charles attended the 2 big National M1icon Carbine Display And Competitions in Birmingham.
He had invited me down for both but I couldn't schedule due to our spring home shows.
I have my T shirt that he got for me at the first show that was on March 24-25th 2007.
I wasn't a member of the Carbine Club at that time and I don't have or know the Newsletter number that had a front page picture on it of the show, but Charles told me that he could be seen front and center in that picture..... and called it "Priceless".
If anyone has access to it please send me a PM.

I last spoke to Charles back in June, but traded Emails often.
He had mentioned he was dealing with a 'Spot of Cancer'.
I took it lightly, like he had a spot of skin cancer.
He never mentioned it again even though we traded dozens of Emails.
My heart and prayers go out to his wife Danna, his Daughters and Grand kids.
His loss will be felt by many.

If interested here is a link to his Obit:
Robert Charles Waldrop Obituary - Pelham, AL

    This is Charles

    Charles,
I Thank You for your time, patience, help and friendship.
I Thank the Lord that our paths crossed.
You have my word I'll do what you requested.

    Roll Tide....

As an army brat that grew up moving (five different countries by the time I was 12.. ) Alabama, specifically Huntsville, Alabama -was the closest thing I ever had to a home town or home state. There are some mighty fine folks there... I never knew the man, but my condolences to his family and friends... and of course, Roll Tide...
