One of my favorite '03s

Just thought I'd post pics of one of my favorites. I picked up this Rock Island # 294730 with RIA 7-18 barrel from Collector's Firearms in Houston for $429 sometime in 2005. It was a CMP icon

rifle in a beat up looking scant stock. I managed to find this MARK I ( Ithink) stock at a local gunshow so I oiled it with Tung or BLO icon

(can';t recall) and substituted a straight handle bolt. Nothing else. Barrel is in great shape, and shoots great too.

The stock is indeed a Mark I. You might keep your eyes open for a trade for a "conventional" grasping groove stock. You might even be able to make a few bucks on the deal.
