    CMP Forum

What is going on with the CMPicon forum, its often very slow and times out. Thier server doesnt seem to be able to handle the volume. I cannot believe they dont purchase a decent server for thier program.

Sorry if this is the wrong forum but I find this unbeliveable, guess thats why Im here

Sometimes I just give up rather than wait and wait. I wish more people would come over here or to Joustericon.

From what I can see, they upgraded from very simple forum software to pretty complex forum software that is much more drive-intensive. I don't think they upgraded the server, and the result was a very slow system. I'm sorry about that, because it is a great place to discuss their products and delivery system.

I see many posters here that used to be on CSP before it went down. I know that there was a lot of sniping and name calling and the rest of the things some egotistical people do behind the keyboard but I haven't seen it lately. Yes the traffic being down is one reason but I first started with CSP and I'll be darned if a few idiots will make me leave. It is all about learning and helping other learn about Garands. Rant mode off.

CMPicon Forum is starting to have a few clowns as well. Used to be very well policed. They flame anyone who even questions a CMP product. Worst part is so many people complained about thier limits & pricing that they jacked it up even more. Just look at the current Crop of Bayonets. This forum is now my first choice.

I had the guts to complain about a stock my buddy received. It was really poor and CMPicon took it back. But, some clown took offense and tried to ship a virus to me via Email. Some real nut jobs on that forum!

There are nutjobs on every forum.

I too have experienced periodic slowdowns on the CMPicon forums. Overall though it is still my favorite forum. I never really liked the CSPicon forums - unused to the format and there were a lot of personalities with egos there. When CSP went down I joined up here. Since CSP has reopened, I read it but I haven't and probably won't register.

Too be honest I don't post on CMP much anymore though either. I am too tired of seeing the same threads with no effort on the part of the poster to learn anything for themselves prior to asking the forum a question. I just can't see the sense in using some internet forum as the sole basis for my knowledge about a firearm. All it takes in one book (something like Duff's book on the WW2 Garandicon) and the vintage FMs (available for free on the internet) to answer 99% of the questions asked. So I refuse to abet someone trying to do that. I steadfastly refuse to give anyone reloading recipes on a forum since I know they wouldn't ask if they had a reloading manual like they should.

Maybe I'm getting old and crotchety.

After Jouster stuck their knife deep in the back of Milsurps, Hell will freeze over before I and many others ever join to partake in their forums.
