A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Winchester # 441509 I believe that would be a Oct 1918 manufacture date.
Double check your stock. The rear hand guard does not appear to be Winchester
and the finger grooves look more like the shape of an Eddystone. It may just
be the angle of the photo, but i would compare it with the photo's here. M1917 finger grooves and also compare the bolt cut out with the photo's here. Danish Eddystone: your opinion needed

Can anyone tell if the stock is walnut? They used 3 different wood types on the '17's and I think that wood is not walnut, can't be sure. Both of my Winny's are nicely blued. This rifle is parkerized? Correct?

Nice looking rifle! Yes, the finish is parkerizing and the wood appears to be walnut.
