A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. I have to say that the scope and tin look original to me. It's a shame that these clowns set about them with wire wool and brasso! I had one to rebuild a few months ago that was a brass polishers pride and joy! They'd spent hours over many years polishing the brass bits. That was until I set about it with the bead blaster and chucked it into the hot phosphating tank.............. The telescope I mean!

Thank you for your advice. Can you please advise how much it you would typically charge (approx) to rebuild this scope.

    Thank you.

You can never tell unless you have looked inside it................. The saying '....how long is a piece of string......' originated in the optical instrument repair world. What I have said on a couple of occasions to those who insist on an unseen quote is this:
As it is, it's worth £10 as spare parts.
Rebuilt to Base Workshop FTR spec, it's worth £1000 and rising by the week ................
