I have no other complaints from any other members about all their graphics re-direction links being blocked (showing red X's), so I suspect it must be local to your environment, but it is strange that you can see all the graphics symbols and pics from other sites mentioned and just not ours.

Out of curiosity about something it might be, try CLEARING your Internet cache, as it may have become corrupted ....

If there's anything we can do to help, let me know. I'd be happy to speak to your IT guys, or perhaps someone who sits near your machine that is more computer "savvy" and see if we can check some of your IE6 settings.

Have you thought about downloading FireFox and installing it on your local computer, or would they hang you in the courtyard for that ...

    Regards,
    Doug

Only took three tries to read your last post! Urff!

It isn't MAY not download Firefox, but CANNOT download! I'm thinking IE6 is only for the INTRANET- what workings are going on for INTERNET access I have no clue. Layers upon layers- Our system is probably handling over 80,000 users daily, minimum, and that doesn't begin to count the several hundred thousand customer interactions (millions?), daily, w/ 250,000+ sales on the front(retail side), plus whatever internal business transactions w/ vendors and such.

Internet caches also cannot be modified from these terminals.

My "playtime" concerns are of no importance in the greater scheme of things. Sorry! I feel like I've abandoned my duty, but I reckon it ain't a huge thing as you've many others who will contribute good info. If things change I'll certainly jump back in, but who knows? One bright note- I've two weeks vacation coming up, so I'll probably abuse WBS2111's computer a bit!

No worries from me, I never expected that this foray would get even near the degree of invovlement that it has. Hopefully, some folk were helped along the way.

"Magic"! Graphics are back. Pay no attention to the group behind the curtain....Still running IE6, though.

Since this is my own little whiney thread, it seems, I gotta say that after two weeks away from work computers, coming back to 'em is wretched!!!! Can't hardly read a post, often it takes multiple tries over 4-5 minutes, which is half of break time.

Deer season opens tomorrow for firearms, so weekend access will be reduced as well.

Y'all are gonna drag me into the 21st century, I'm afraid. Not soon, but the frustration level is growing. I just can't see blowing up perfectly good ammo money on some new but immediately obsolete digital gadget again. Home computer is right out, so that leaves some kind of handheld "thinngy".

    Curse you, "Red" Badger!

Have you tried switching to the Mobile style?

Scroll the web site screen all the way down and check the bottom left corner. You'll see a drop down selection box and one of the choices for the display style for your end is Mobile. It's virtually all text with little graphics but mobile phone users and members who still use slow dial-up 56kb connections really like it.

The default when people register is Medium brown and a lot of people switch their own personal default to Light because they prefer a bright white screen. You can set you own default which will remember what you've chosen for future logins under your personal General Options (click here) in the Settings area of your User Control Panel.

    Hope that helps ...

    Regards,
    Doug

Well, I'll try those settings when I get back to work!

As I don't have any mobile devices that do much more than ring, it wont help there, yet. Heck, it's a prepaid no frills thing, but people that know me are amazed when it's actually turned on...and not lost at the same time.

Well, it seems that te mobile option isn't required if the photo option is turned off. I also turned off the avatars and signatures. Still get script errors, but don't have to wait to clear them. MUCH faster!

Gonna try the MOBILE option a bit and see how that goes as well.(not that this decrepit old PC is exactly mobile...)

Did you make some security upgrades to the site? Can't hardly access posts at my usual weeknight location as of last night. (Company keeps getting Microsoft to update IE6, believe it or don't! I guess if you've several thousand computers and more money than sense...) Can still sort of get to the posts, usually, but I'm not sure how long it'll keep working.

Can't tell when or if they'll go to a new system what with jet fuel at insane-o prices.

Nope, no upgrades or changes that would impact IE6 any worse than it already is ..

Did you switch to "Mobile Interface" and try that?

    Regards,
    Doug
