S/N C6201 to C11621 = 1914
S/N C20,001 to C21000 = 1916
S/N C86790 to C116000 = 1919
321 shipped in 1914 marked on right side of slide with "MARINA ARGENTINA". In 1915 another 1000 shipped within above S/N range. In 1919 another 400 M1911 Colts shipped in above S/N range.

PS: Yes, it's not the original sight installed - but I have the original. Last two digits of S/N made unreadable.

It's not an "as new" specimen, but the Marine ordnance always seems to have had hard use. I guess the Argentine Marines had to use and re-use stuff just like the US. Still a pretty cool pistol after having survived since 1914. I like it and wouldn't mind having one like it in my Colt collection.

This was the first M1911 Marina Argentina that I ever saw; after some research what resulted in that I hardly found anything, I bought it. Everything is original, what for me makes it worthier than the other refinished Marina Argentina that are around in the web.

The original sight had been put back in place. Doesn't look much different now, but I thought you might like to see it. The punch marks are german firing proof, "Beschuss", as it's called.
