    Spanish Mauser M43

How do you remove the rear sling ring on this rifle? It is not a through bolt, and appears to be slighly too deep to just unscrew.

Are you're talking about a sling ring mounted on the left side of the butt stock like the FR-8 (which I believe is a modified '43) or the sling mount on the bottom of the butt stock. If it's on the side, the pin to remove it is located under the butt plate and should just pull out with a great deal of effort. If on the underside of the stock butt it should have two screws holding it on.

Thanks! It's the side one. I didn't know about the pin under the buttplate. I really appreciate the help. And, yes, the FR-8 is a modified 43.

Buttplate is off, but I don't see the pin. Is this what it should look like, or is the top of the pin missing?

Thanks, I appreciate all the help. Turns out the pin was missing, and it was rusted in place. Finally got it out.
