    IAI M1 Garand with Issues

I just traded a Egyptian Maadi AK-47 for a IAI M1icon Garand. Thought i got a great deal even though I never heard of the IAI. So a couple of things. Was this a good trade? Who is IAI? and there appears to be a issue, the barrel appears to be 2 or 3 degrees off. It appears the barrel isn't aligned properly to the receiver. It has a springfield 1964 barrel, a winchester trigger group, stock has no markings but in beautiful shape and the metal is also in great shape, no rust or pitting.

IAI was here in Houston, they also made M1icon carbines. I bought one and the rear sight fell off. Brought it right back and returned it to the dealer. Stick with GI for M1 Garands and carbines.

Well i traded a AK-47 that i got for $25 for it, so i think i got a good deal. But i gotta get the barrel timing straightened out. If i get that fixed it would make a good entry level Garandicon. Maybe ill get a CMPicon rifle at some time in the near future, looks like i qualify to purchase one since im active duty Army.
