A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... Going used I would have no idea what to look for
Going used, you should find some good deals, depending where it comes from, look for overall condition, what was it used for, the other thing with used is you may pick up some tooling with it, a big mistake by most who buy something is they forget to budjet for tooling etc.

Small bench machines tend to come from model engineers upgrading to bigger machines so ( in most case,s) would of been looked after, ex schools, college and university machines are sometimes sold off without much use.

First off, thanks for all the input and help

Been checking all the Craigslist's and can't find anything used, I know I'm impatiant, but want to get started soon.

    I may order this one.
Any reason I should not ?
The first thing I want to be able to do, is complete a couple of 80% Lowers.
Will this do the Job well ?
I know I need some tooling, so what do I need right off ?
Also since it is R8 spindle, will the tooling I buy fit a larger unit later on ?

my dad used to tell me....if your gonna be cheap, you gotta be patiant..
heres a hot ticket for searching CL.....searchtempest.com searches all of CL nation wide, starting close, and going out as you page...
youll be on it for hours....

FYI: almost all the high end small stuff is made in China, Enco, Jet, ect...Grizzly, Chicago, ect...all are the same tools with different paint and decals on them...
just research it...youll see. i dont know any that are made US or Euro anymore...what a shame.
