    Question Weird Springfield ser.# !!??

Guy at a gunshop claims to have a Springfield with RFK 1 in the place where the serial number usually is. Haven't seen it with my own eyes, and this guy has been known to BS. Were there any "Special" serial numbers given out? Seems like Teddy Roosevelt got a low number, but I never heard of any out of sequence, or special numbers.

Nothing I've ever heard of. Is there a link or pictures?

My guess is he has seen Greek stocks with a SN in them and is referring to an RIA FK rebuild cartouche in the stock thinking a SN should be there and not the rifle SN on the receiver.
