A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... Ian Skennerton on board, back from the Zuid Afrika Republik

Thanks to all for the interest in our Sparrow Force documentary. We have a page in News & Events at http://www.skennerton.com for those who are not aware of the Australianicon 'bird' forces early in WW2. We are moving into production and taking the last travel-capable Sparrow Force survivor, Fred 'Lofty' Smith of A Coy., 2/40th Infantry Battalion, back to Timor in early December. Travel costs for Lofty and film crew are a priority for the production; the Milsurps management has kindly offered some assistance for the project.

My visit to South Africa was a revelation, I had no idea of the wide range of firearms there, especially Martinis, Lee-Metfords, Lee-Enfields, FAL and Galil copies. I would be happy to post some images later, if members are interested.

    Cheers from Oz,
    Ian & Su

Hi Ian , thankyou for sparing some of your time for us . I always thought I knew a bit about L-Es ,that is until I found your books and realised how little I knew , but you helped me fit my few jig-saw pieces into the bigger picture . It's a pity that as information becomes better , then restrictive legislation becomes worse . C'est la vie (as they say over here) .

    Best regards from Franceicon ,
    Bill.

What a fantastic news this is.

Badger, I express my joy: Yay!

With Messrs. Skennertonicon and Laidlericon present here, this forum has to be considered the best thing since sliced bread. Ok, even better.

Mr. Skennerton, I'm half way through your Lee Enfield book (copy number 172) and each evening it's difficult to put the book down.

    Cheers,

    Lou

As an ordinary member here, I must say that it is an honor to be in such great company. I have read some of Mr.Skennertonicon's works and admire his knowledge. We are so lucky. I look forward to building on my own knowledge...Welcome
