WAC sent me an extra handguard which is scary matching but damaged. I think I can repair this......what do you think? Regards, Rick.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. I am in the process of attempting a repair. I used some small pieces of Red Elm and rough shaped them. Then I superglued the 2 slats on the broken area using a piece of curved plastic for support. I'm going to let this dry for several hours and clean it up with the dremel. A tiny bit of stain should complete the job. The chances of it holding are not good. Regards, Rick.

    Hi sakorick,

Nice looking match. If it doesn't hold I would try another repair. I think a lap joint would be stronger. JMHO.....Frank

Repair complete! I have removed and reinstalled it three times and the repair is holding just fine. The old handguard is marked PI and is in good shape. Pm me if you need a PI handguard and I'll email you some pictures.....cost is what WAC charges. I think the rifle looks 100% better with it's new furniture. Thanks to everyone for all the great info and regards, Rick.
