    New 1912 Chilean carbine

I got this 1912 Steyr Mauser Chileanicon carbine a few weeks ago at an on-line estate sale and it arrived today.

Bolt is non-matching.. , but it has a fantastic bore--one of the best I've seen on a milsurp--Swede's and Swissicon included. I have trouble with getting good pictures of a rifle bore, but..

Looks like a very, very good bore indeed.
BTW, to get the 3rd picture to come out better, try it again, but shine the light into the chamber at an angle, not straight down the bore (as it appears to have been). This will produce a better contrast pic. of the rifling.

It looks like "Never fired, only dropped once."

Jon--it may never have been fired (something that I intend to correct soon), but it most certainly looks like it has been dropped more than once!

What number do you need to make it match? Presumably it will be an A-prefix, under 5,000.

I've got some Chileanicon M12 bolts; I'll take a look.

Actually, my memory was faulty. The carbines go up at least to A6000.
