    Swedish Mauser sights

I have aquired a Swedishicon M96 and it has come with target sights on.I would like to put original battle sights on.Does anyone know where i could get a rear sight and a blade front sight from.Preferably in the uk but anywhere if the price and post is reasonable.

    Thanks

    Andy

    Andy,
Sorry for the late reply. Of all my usual suspects, I only find that Numrich here in the States carries the parts you will need:

Alot of Swedishicon mauser parts show up on US ebay, since thats where most of them seem to have ended up when they were sold off as surplus.
But the target sights aren't such a detriment to the weapon, first of it makes shooting it a hell of a lot easier and second; it does represent how the swedish mausers ended their existence as target rifles with Swedish shooters.

I would not change the sights on your rifle. You probably have a FSR (Volunteer Shooters Movement) rifle, and they are not as common as the regular m/96 rifles. Lets have some more information, and pictures. Date of rifle, name of rear sight, is there a disk in the stock, pictures etc.

As noted, these rifles are much more accurate with the diopter rear sights, and a lot of them have been selected as target rifles for an even more accurate rifle. The sights are what makes the FSR rifles unique within the Swedish Mauser rifle group.

Does your rifle's sight look like this? Regards, Rick

If so, don't change it as these sights are worth >$100. What front sight does it have? Regards, Rick.
