Value Of M1 Carbine 30 Round SEY Hardback Magazine

Hello, I just bought a SEY marked 30 round M1icon Carbine magazine, it
appears to be the hardback SEY version of the magazine. I don't have a
picture, but if one is needed I can put one up. It has three gooves on each
side of the magazine, the two outer grooves go all the way up and down
each side of the magazine and the groove in the center of the magazine
is about 2.5" long and centered in the middle of the magazine. I would grade
the magazine at a conservative 90% condition, almost all of the original blue
finish is there, it has not been parkerized. The magazine is complete with spring
and follower, ready to rock and roll. I have not been following the value of these
magazines and would appreciate any info on approx. value of the magazine.
I found the magazine on a local guns and accessories for sale website and I emailed
the seller and asked him if there were any stamped markings such as letters and/or
numbers or symbols stamped in the magazine, he emailed me back about the SEY
stamping and I met up with him last night and I bought the magazine for $20. Thanks
for any help. Trenchgun P.S. I guess that this is my second posting on this site, however
I was a longtime poster starting around 1999 on the old Culvericon M1 carbine site, I guess that
site is gone, I don't know. I still live, breath and sleep guns everyday, the M1 carbine is but
one gun that I have interests in, I really enjoy buying, selling, trading and learning about guns.

If I could find someone to buy at $200, I would sell a few.

Even in my area that seems a bit high. Maybe I am just out of touch with current prices.

What make me sad is I had one AND knew what I had but since I'm in Canadaicon it's value was the sum total of bugger all. I gave it to a friend who has a carbine so it can at least be used.
    Regards, Jim

heck I would sell all of mine for $180 each delivered!!!

but I buy them when I find them in the $25-$50 range.. but watch out for the repo SEY marked mags. you will know them when you see them.. usually wrapped in the oil paper like the koran ones.. except they only hold 28 rds of ammo..

I did pay $100 for one new in the clear and red wraper almost 10 years ago.. but I have never seen another forsale

I have a half dozen hardback SEY 30 rounders, including an unused one, that I bought the past year never spending over $50. I rarely spend over $30 for a USGI splitback. People can ask $200 for one, but only somebody with more money than brains would pay that price.

You did real good for $20.

I had an AI and SEY hardbacks, but sold them a couple years ago since I am a carbine shooter, not collector. I still have an AI and a SEY split-back, but I kinda wish I had kept the hardbacks now. Oh well, I have other projects that require my limited fun funds now.... Maybe around the first of he year I will try to pick up a hardback or two. I have about 20 15s and 8 total 30s: AYP, AI, SEY, J, O-Kay, and one early commercial that is actually as good as a GI. I guess that is enough for the one carbine I own!!!
