1903A3 Reproduction Bayonet Band Does Not Fit

My project started when I bought two lots of 1903A3 parts. Both had repo bayonet bands (hoped for a Remington but it did not happen). Both bands are super tight when I try to assemble them to the stock and barrel guard. So, my question is should I take wood off the stock parts or try to find an original Remington bayonet band which might fit better??? Or are the reppo parts made to the same dimensions as the originals???

    Advice welcomed...
    Hank

Lots of stuff coming out of China. Real bands are quite common at big gunshows. Try to find the real part as most guys can spot the repo stuff and it will hurt the rifle's value.

Try billricca.com or as Chuck suggests shop afew gunshows. most of them have a few parts specialists and that will be the easiest way to match the finish and condition of your rifle.
