Can you fellow Aussies keep a secret....

There's a bunch of blokes that reside at gunboards (most of which visit here too) meeting at the Lithgowicon Small Arms Museum on Saturday week, the 6th, for a day of "all things Lithgow".

There will be most of the original "HT Club" that were there from the '07 booklaunch for Mr Skennertonicon 's "The Lee Enfield". and the opening of the Ron Hayes collection plus launch of his book. (a couple of pics from the occasion attached)

Anyone who would like an honourary membership to the HT Club, just let me know and rock up on Saturday 6th at the Museum at 10 am. Trying to arrange something in the way of a "special tour" but still waiting info on that so no promises... The last gathering of the HT club resulted in the (in)famous Jollygreenslug You-tube video of my green tarp strewn with Lithgow snpers and No6... Well, we are planning a bigger production this time.

    Anyone interested?

    Son,

Would love to but the 12 hour drive each way from Bris Vegas just wouldn't fit in between shifts.

I'll do my best, but it's a toss up. Miss shooting, to go and look at guns... Hmmm, I'll have to check next weeks course of fire. Sounds great though

If we can keep the interest, we're talking about making it an annual event. So far we have about ten going. A couple flying down from Brisbane, one from WA and a pair driving up from Vic!
We sorta floated the idea a while back, just got around to organising last week. Most are staying overnite- you're both very welcome to join us.

We'd love to go, but I think the 15 hour flight one way from Toronto might be a bit much ...

We are going to come to Australiaicon for a vacation though, probably sometime in the next few years when I retire ....

    Regards,
    Doug

Can anyone remember if Mr. Skennertonicon actually signed Matt's vegemiteicon jar? He autographed just about anything else that was put in front of him.

    Lithy,

He didn't, sadly. The biggest disappointment was my camera not working when I tried to take a pic of Mr Skennertonicon holding the vegemiteicon jar. I'm not sure what I did to this day...

    Cheers,
    Matt

Would love to be there to meet you fine gents and show support for the museum. Sadly, I am stretched at present, working in 3 timezones out of Brisbane and can't see that easing for a bit. I thoroughly enjoyed the report on the book launch and Ron's collection, hope it is a great day again and look forward to reading about it.

    Gentlemen

I am unable to join you road trip. It's just too far form Bunbury.

It would be great though if you could post some pics of the displays as there is not much visible on the net.

    Thanks

    Paul

Fellas, if we go again next year I promise we'll be a bit better organised, and start planning two months in advance. I'd also like to organise a group tour through the Infantry Centre museum once the new building is completed, hopefully under twelve months away. Unfortunately the Inf Museum is closed now until after the move.

Badger, how do you think a pictorial walking tour of the Lithgowicon Museum would go for an MKLicon entry?
