1942 Military marked Ithaca Model 37

Picked this up at my local gun shop last week. Ithaca Model 37, 30" barrel, roll engraved reciever, blued shotgun.

By the serial number, made in 1942; also was shipped as part of a 16 case shipment to the Raritan Arsenal in New Jersey on 21 September 1942. I'll let the photos do the talking; it appears to be all original/original finish except for one screw holding the buttplace on.

    1942 Ithaca 37

Hello, I just bought the same gun (same markings and all) and was wondering where you got the information on it, I am really curious on the ordnance bomb marking.

    Thanks

Lipa - basically I got the information from searching Google and posting on Surplusrifleforum.com; gunboards.com, and luck.

The Ordnance Bomb and inspector's mark (on mine RLB) mean it was inspected and accepted by the government. Someone else on another forum provided the info about shipping to the Raritan Arsenal.

    Good luck with your quest!
