This document is intended to illustrate the tools and techniques necessary to field strip and disassemble M14 rifle clones. Disassembly will cover everything except the trigger group disassembly, and small parts disassembly like the spindle valve in the gas cylinder and the cartridge clip guide on the receiver as well as the operating rod guide. These items rarely, if ever, need to be removed once installed by the factory or by a gunsmith.
