    Shooters Sling Set Up

I'm Planning on competing (Garandicon Match) and got the rifles (2) that I will use set up and my Question is , where is the film I remember watching that shows how to use the sling for shooting? It's been 8 years since I shot comp and that was short and sweet but most of what I learned is sadly forgotten. CAN ANYONE HELP?

Will you be using the GI leather or web sling?

The first link is an excellent how to for using the web sling in HP competetion. Written by Bruce Woodford who made High Master with the M-14.

This one leads to an excellent video by the USArmy Marksmanship Unit on the set-up & use of the Model 1907 two piece leather sling:

    Found it!

Thanks to all but I found what I was searching for. Heard the saying "If it was a snake it would have bit you". If you look above the first page of this forum and go 7th from bottom, M1icon rifle marksmanship (1942) the first video starts with use of the sling. As I recall it goes into all the proper positions and would help anyone looking to improve their shooting skills.
It also lets you know how much work is involved in getting those high scores. I know my wife is going to love all the practice (not live fire) that I'll be doing in the living room this winter. Our Christmas party should be interesting this year.

I have just started shooting Garands more and plan to do the service matches. I stated with a leather sling but find the web sling easier for now.

I have only shot with the web but got some CMPicon NM leather slings and going practice (as I said in my living room) to set them up and all the shooting positions and transitions I need to brush up on. Only for the fun of shooting the Garandicon of coarse.
