help with Toyo Kogyo Caliber: 7.7 x 58 mm.

I have a friend who is 87yrs young was on the Quincy 71 at Izu Shoto 10/23/1945. They were collecting all guns and weapons. We were hoping some one could give us some info on the rifle he has ?Series: 34th Arsenal: Toyo Kogyo Caliber: 7.7 x 58 mm. If you have any input on this gun it would be greatly appreciated. I have pictures but i don't seem to figure out how to attach them. we would appreicate some feedback.
    Thank you very much,

What sort of info do you wish to know? Service histories of individual weapons aren't available. They are generally good strong actions, regardless of vintage, but some shy away from shooting the very late "last ditch" weapons due to cancerns of heat treatment quality.
