sporterised No 4 sniper on Gunsamerica

I have been teasing myself by looking for No4Ts around and actually have found onethat is in need of some TLC but have a couple of problems. 1 is I have no idea how to get it back here and 2 is the guy hasn't sold anything on that site at all and is in another country. I can't go and see it or be sure it even exists. If it is a dud it isn;t easy to follow up from over here.

$795 seems to be a good buy so hopefully someone from here can take advantage of it and snap it up.
Add some wood and a scope and you have a genuine No4t .. just not in original configuration.

Enfield Long Branch Sniper Enfield Rifleicon for sale ... GunsAmerica.

Get it, have it shipped to Brian at BDLicon and have him ship it to you. He does it all the time.

But make sure he's in a good mood and paying up front is always a good starter!

I doubted it was real. Most the information I have acquired indicated that Long Branch did not begin making sniper rifles until 1943. Any years before that I get really weary. The poor image quality made me suspicious as well. Anyone else make the same observation?

I initially thought that too Ghosty but then thought '....why would anyone 'T-ise' an already butchered/bubba'd sporterised No4'? While you were going to 'T-ise' it, you'd be as well spending a few extra $$'s to make it a FULL T, albeit a bit rough - BUT worth a whole lot more.

Just my thoughts. But it's academic now, it's gone. Is there any way that we could follow it up for interests sake?

Doubtful Bubba got it. He us usually a lowballer when it comes to auctions and would'nt dream of paying that much for a used Military rifle. Bubba's mission statement would read something like this: Buy cheap, Sporterize, then trade for a commercial rifle. ( which he should have bought in the first place had he saved a few extra bucks!!!)

Just remember that not all Long Branch snipers fit into a time or serial number slot. Many were done up at a later date using rifles from stores. This has thrown more than one collector off the trail of a good piece. By the looks of the one on GB it came out of the Indian bunch that came into the USAicon some time ago. There was some NICE KIT in there (beat and dirty) but some people got some real treasures. There was a good number of trials snipers and Long Branch snipers in the lot...I know that for a fact !!!!
