Jungle First Aid Pouch Conversion to Carbine Mag Pouch

As a WWII collector I have put together several belt rigs

Upon picking up the Jungle First Aid Kit Pouchs at gun shows, many have the internal dividers cut out. Once the dividers are out the pouch is a perfect fit for six 15 round carbine mags.

Do not want to make a WWII equipment modification out of an assumption.

Anyone have any info on this?
