    Enfield No2 Trigger Pull

Can somebody answer this simple question?

The Enfield No2 Mk1 had the hammer spur, the Mk1* did not. I have heard many a time that the armourers lightened the trigger pull on the Mk1* but I can't seem to find any evidence of this being widespread or even undertaken on anything more than an ad hoc basis. Some people are adamant that this was the case, but from all the ones i've tried, it would seem there was bugger all difference!

    Anyone any idea?

Mainspring was lightened to improve trigger pull with the adoption of the No.2MarkI* revolver per List of Changes. However, I can't detect much difference between the two versions of mainsprings and they were certainly not marked in any way to be a guide for armorers to know which mainspring was which short testing each spring individually. I have a very good trigger pull on one of my Enfield revolvers. It appears the mainspring was thinned down a bit to tune the trigger pull by an armorer at some point in time. Spring is also polished in the white and no longer has factory finish which is a good indicator something went on there.

I've never noticed any difference between the pistols.
