    Can you tell me about the front barrel band spring on your Mauser? Mine is missing and I need to buy one. I measured the cleaning rod hole and it looks like 12" or so.

    GUTS, how do you know that yours is a Luftwaffe rifle? I have a very similar one, pictured, less than 1000 off from yours. Is mine a Luftwaffe as well? More about mine is here: Who made this K98?

    I was looking at old posts and saw that you asked about the Luftwaffe heritage. The question is old but I'll answer anyway. On the buttstock between the buttplate and the sling cutout there should be a couple of waffenampts and either an H or an L. H is for Army and L is for Luftwaffe.
