Sling Swivel ID? Help Please!
I purchased a 1903 sling swivel from an online store. This is what I got.?? Looks like a swivel on an Enfield I own. Does not look like the one from my other '03'. I can't ID the marks. All help and imput would be appreciated.

I'm not sure about the markings, but the part appears to be a M1903.

I don't think 1903 sling swivels with the split shank are cut all the way through as the one shown.
Might try posting on the Mauser or Enfield forums.

I believe the early swivels were split. I have one on my RI.

The early ones were split but not like that. Only through the outer part not the loop it's self. It was for tension on the band.

I fail to recognize your swivel, except that I'm reasonably certain that it's not an M1903 swivel.
Hope this helps. Happy New Year!

I want to thank everyone for the input. I initially thought it was for an Enfield, but it looks like an "03" swivel from a distance. It looks an awful lot like one off a Longbranch Enfield I own.Thought I would throw the question out there anyway. Like tools, one can never have enough spare parts....

(Deceased Feb 2023)
Back in the mid 1990's I got over 1,000 swivels that had been repacked in boxes of 200 circa early 1960's. The split swivels have a variety of cuts. Some go all the way, others go partial.
I am not sure which rifles goes with which, but they were all US GI, with the same part number. My guess is the splits varied depending upon location or time of manufacture.

This came off my '43' Longbranch. The swivel looks just like the one in question. It most likely is a British swivel. Thanks for the imput guys. Now where do I find a correct one?

It DOES look the same. But the mark doesn't show up in Skennertons book on Lee Enfield.
