    Boer War Bayonet

    Hi,
I recently had a guy on craigslist post that he had a "WW2 Germanicon Bayonet" for 75$ so I bit, figuring that for 75 if its german and WW2 i couldn't do too bad depending. So we correspond and he says it may be WW1 instead. I ask for a picture and cross my fingers that its a sawback. Well that picture came and it was...but not one like I ever have seen.
I believe its a Transvaal bayonet from the Boer War but a don't really know anything about it so any info would be much appreciated!

Yeah I picked it up. Wow I figured it would be worth something being a sawback but I didn't know it was rare!

From what I can tell only 400 were made and only 50 delivered to the South Africans.
