    Plum Crazy Saiga

I decided to upgrade and finish restoring my Saiga 7.62x39. It had a Texas AK Trigger double hook FCG already. Here is what I came up with: K-Var Plum furniture (Warsaw length), rounded bolt on trigger guard, and two piece bolt on retainer - all from Greg at CSS. Add a Blackthorne 24mm FSB (Oh, be quiet, I like it!), CNC Warrior's AK 74 24mm Brake for 7.62x39, Chinese vented gas tube, and new in wrap Bulgarian neoprene handled circle 10 bayonet and sheath ($30) from Northridge Int. I have a 16" cleaning rod coming.

BTW, for the price, you can't beat CNC Warriors brake! The two piece retainer form Greg at CSS is a bargain at less than $30!

    Nice. Very, very nice.

Is that a US Palm mag in the first pic? How's it working for you?

Yes, it is a US palm. They are a good magazine, but too expensive and a little on the large size. I see no advantage over Bulgarian Circle 10s. The big down side is the non-removable base cup instead of a base plate. There are reports of failures of the glue and base cups popping off while loaded. A real negative. If I spend that much, I will get Russkie bakelites. Actually I sold the US Palm and bought an Izzy bakelite. I have a stack of com-block metal mil-surps, and 8 Polish Radom polymers - very nice and under-rated mags.

    Nice looking saiga.....

I can't own the saiga's in 7,62x39 here in my state but i can own the saiga's in 223 and in 308win go figure. The saiga's are the hottest buy on the planet ever since the very first sks's arrived. My 16" barreled 308win saiga at 100yds will shoot 1 1/2" groups using the surplus south african 308 ball ammo if we do our part. Some guys are getting 1/2" moa's with better ammo. The russians at izhmash did say they focused on making the saiga's more accurate than there ak brothers. And for some reason the 223 and the 308 saiga's are a tad more accurate over the russian calibers and they think its the design of our brass. Bill

Thats why i grabbed every saiga i coulod before they get banned too we just never know. When the first importer changed hands i grabbed what was left over saiga wise i my two dealers. I got deals like you wouldn't believe. I got one brand new saiga in 223 missing the mag but the two saiga's i purchased before that one i got an extra mag with both rifles. I found another saiga in 308 with the scope/rail mount that was used but still looked unshot. The deals like these are probably gone now but my very first brand new 308 saiga was only $307OTD. Bill

Got my Vector today, it looks real nice. Dont know a lot about them, but just researching the Vector is among the top names that I saw. I was torn between this one and a Lancaster.

Grandson and myself went to the shooting range yesterday to try out my new Vector AK. 100yds, POA is 6 0' Clock where white bullseye meets the green. Not too shabby and I'll leave the sights alone. At 59 yrs old that white bullseye looks like a Flea. Sitting with 2 sand bags to rest, and those 30 round mags are not to good to work with on a shooting bench. Think I'll look for some 20 rounders.
