I picked up a sling and a parade swivel so I can carry the rifle, but not disturb the sticker that was placed over the rear swivel mount. I had seen pictures in the Mauser book with this set up and thought it would do the trick.

Problem, the front swivel accepts a 1 1/4 sling ,but the parade swivel is only 1 inch.
So I either get a 1inch sling or a wider rear swivel if they exist.
A 1inch sling will swim a little but may be only option.

It looks just like mine. Did you hang it up or sell it?

No, still have it. It's so unique don't you think? Can you post pictures?

I know joe will want the serial number as he tracks these rifles. I forget how many he knows of but it's not many.

That is a lovely rifle, even with a bit of rust, which looks fairly minor. The stickers are a real catch. I've attached some pictures of the relevant pages in Olson's Mauser Bolt Rifles book and also Speed's book--not a lot of information, and no serial number data. I have a Haenel Wehrmannbuchse, and have attached some pictures of it as well. It is a purpose made single shot, probably using some leftover military parts, with an unusual split top band (reminiscent of a Mannlicher type) and a more micro adjustable rearsight than on a standard service rifle. Have never seen a Mauser one, though, and yours is a real find, especially with the stickers proudly showing its "been there, done that" history. A definite keeper.

Just by chance there is a Wehrmannsbusch 8.15X46 rifle listed on the Simpsons Collectors site. Here is the link:
