Thumbs up Bill Bentz - 1903/1903A3 Front Sight Blades

Two weeks ago, while looking for Front Sight Blades, I stumbled on an article written by Dan Arnold where he stated that he knew someone who manufactured front sight blades for the 1903 Springfield rifle. Here's the url to the article.

The 19303Ag, Best of Breed? Shooting the Springfield for Fun and Competition

". . . . . . . , Bill Bentz is currently manufacturing a duplicate of the Marine-type sight which is available in all of the original heights. Simply check to see what letter is stamped on your front sight blade, or failing that, remove and measure the front sight and provide the measurement to Bill. I received mine in less than a week and it installed just like the original. If you happen to have the earlier 1903 Springfield, Bill also makes the Marine-type rear aperture. You can contact Bill via email: dcm450shtr@comcast.netThis e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , or snail-mail at 64 W. Bristol Road, Ivyland, PA 18974."

I sent Bill Bentz an email and I received my USMC style front sight blade yesterday. He threw in a couple of pins for the blade, and I have it now installed on my rifle. The blade is cold blued, very well made, professional quality, it will give you a sharp and crisp sight picture, and I am very happy with it. Bill Bentz is a great guy to deal with as well. I highly recommend him.

Last year Bill made me a special height front sight for a 1903A3 Smith Corona that was shooting high with a "A" sight. The gun shot
Silver last year at Camp Perry. Later I ordered a set of USMC sights for a 1903A1 National Match and they qreatly improved the sight
picture for my old eyes. His quality, delivery, & prices are excellent.

I will also agree that Bill's items are very well made. I often send his email address to those asking for A3 slight blades.

    He has very good production.
