I'd be willing to bet they clean up well. Afghanistan is very dry and arid, mostly dust is the issue. Dust and surface mold.

Two things they seem to have ALOT of:
-Enfield No.4's
-MN 91/30 bayonets.

Those are not 91/30 bayonets, but the much rarer socket-ring MN 1891 bayonets!

Always fun to see such weapon casches.
I recall seeing a weapons depot in Bosnia. Tons of mg34's and other neat stuff.

BTW, those are bren guns we see in a couple of those pictures, right?

Looks to me like some of these were dipped in old motor oil before storage. There is a chance that perhaps a minority of these rifles would be in good condition but I seriously doubt it.

For those rifles I did get to see there was very little blueing left. These things have been used, abused and probably never properly cleaned. A nice place to collect some wall hangers or a collection of parts in my opinion.

It would take me several hours to root through the chaff but I am sure I could fill the back of a toyota pickup with some goodies. There was a huge stack of no4's and PPSH's.

I also found it interesting/sad that there were literally tons of cheap surplus subguns like the PPSH and the M3 dumped on Afghanistan.
