Looks to me these chests are Bren chests converted to house the No 4 snipers?

Some pictures of the interior would be awesome, these types of chests are all new to me and very interesting.

Here are some shots of a vickers chests hinges, and a Short style Bren chest, which I believe came out of India at one point. The bren chest has many layers of paint with stencils uderneath. I don't have the heart to start stripping it down and removing it's history.

Anyway, the hinges on the bren chest come closest to those shown, with 4 screws on the long part.
Below is a shot of both chests (vickers on bottom, bren on top of it), and the hardware on the vickers chest.

Below are some shots of the short Bren chest. It's hinges have 4 holes and come close to the hinges shown by the OP.

Once I was told that the hinges they onced used on the seats of older Land Rovers in the UKicon were/are the same hinges used on transit chests in the UK and as shown in Stencollector's recent pictures on the Bren/Vickers boxes. Anyone know anything about that, or have an old Land Rover in the back yard they could reference?

Well lo and behold i have a set of those hinges....my dad picked up a set for me after we were talking about them.... Bless his heart....

I adapted them to my 'range box' chest and they seem to work fine......

The box is completed with the fine components supplied by Rick.....!

I think it will serve the purpose well...i don't have an original T.... But my scoped no 4 will be fine in it...I'm going to look Around for a tin to hold the scope etc....all in all it will make a fine range box.....I received two compliments on it today as well.....
