Just to kick-start some replies -
I'm assuming my RAF issue 4T is in its correct transit box, if so the hinges are nothing like those you show - and - they only have three screw holes.

I seem to remember an old thread where 3-hole hinges were UKicon and 4 hole hinges were Canadianicon am I right or wrong ?
Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

My guess is that they are for a Bren chest and not the Canadianicon or Britishicon "T" rifle transit chests

I am darn sure that is No.7 chest hardware....
There have been a huge pile of scrap and I do mean scrap No. 7 chests found in surplus yards and junk yards lately, that some enterprising soul has probably removed the hardware and sold it to SARCO...and I probably know who it is.

They don't look like any Cno7 chest hinges that I have ever seen. The top end of the Canadianicon hinges taper to a round point. These are squared off.

I don't have a picture at the moment, but the hinges on my Lithgowicon HT chest look to be identical to the ones Nickjc posted above. Very different catch, though...

I do stand corrected on the No.7 hinges. I checked "the shed" (tm) and found that the one no.7 box that has the square hinges on it also shows the holes of the strap hinges. I'll photograph it later next week when I am back and it is a bit warmer in "the shed" (tm).
The one No.7 box I looked at, the hinges were replaced and the wood inletted on the back for the hinge fold. Further investigation shows the same hinges as shown here on the combination Vickers/Lewis chests..... There you go...mouth in motion before mind in gear. But, I do have a lot on my mind right now :-(##
    Back in a few days...........

Here's links to two threads with the pics so far, Lithy also has a HT chest, the pics he posted are his chest.

    Portrait.

I will be doing more at some stage, if there's a particular angle you'd like, (or anyone else) just mention it here...

Note, some of the pics give a bit of a look at the hinges and catches...
