    US uniform question

My father in law was sent to Germanyicon as part of the occupation forces. Prior to that he was a firearms instructor for the Army in Florida.

My brother in law just told my wife that he got information from the VA that my father in law was awarded a cord to wear on his left shoulder by the Frenchicon government. I have never heard of such an award. Medals, yes.

He was with Hq Co 17th Engr Bn 2nd Arm Div. Anybody have any idea about such an award? Thanks...

Lots of unit's were awarded the Frenchicon Fourragere. Audie Murphy wore one in the colours of the Croix de guerre. The 101st had two I think.
