    Picked up another T-99

I stopped by the gun store last week and could not resist a nice Japaneseicon T-99 Series 5. It was on consignment by a man who said his grandfather brought it back from Japan. He flew on a bomber during WW2. Hard to believe anyone would want to give up something so special.

The rifle looked like it just came from the factory, and was still packed in cosmolene. Store owner ran a patch down the barrel so that we could see what it looked like. Beautiful. There is hardly a scratch on the wood and the metal still has a nice blue. Screws are still staked and it also had a muzzle cover that came back with the rifle. The mum is scrubbed, no monopod or dust cover, no cleaning rod but the numbers are matching.

I'm not sure, but I think the Series 5 did not have the AA wings or the pod as there is no evidence a pod was ever on it but band has a place for the pod to attach.

Wow, that is a beauty. I would not have been able to resist buying it either.
