    Got this Springfield last Saturday

Its a 2-45, serial 34760**, with mostly correct parts. Looking for Th and guard but will leave the rear sight alone. Don't believe the gun has ever been reparked. Bore shows about 1/8 of the bullet (mislaid my bore gauge) and is in exc condition. Stock has been resanded and no markings show. Being its my first one in a long, long time, I'm pleased with it. Bought it from a friend for $800.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Nice score, Ted, although I'm surprised you have room in your safe with all those M1icon carbines residing therein!

Good to hear from you Charlie. Have you thawed out up there in the frozen tundra of Maine? As to my carbines, they keep dwindling away as the word spreads. I've had a lot of repeat buyers. The guy I got the Springfield from saw my NPM and traded me back an Underwood he bought last year and an insane amount of cash. With the dwindling suppy of them, have decided to try my hand with the Garandicon. Got this one to refresh my memory since its been a long time since my initial intro in '52. Planning on making a run to CMPicon next month to see what I can find, hopefully several field grades with wood I can refinish. Gonna be 70 here today...warm spell we're having.
