    Hornady .303 174 BTHP discontinued????i

Has Hornady discontinued the .303 174gr BTHP? Was going to order some a minute ago but didn't see them listed anywhere on Natchez's or Midway's website. Whats up?

Didn't know they made any, ever. How about Sierra?

They surely did. The ones I had came in 100 pc bags but they were sold under the Hornady name. I guess I have no choice now but the Sierra's. They are about $6/box more than the Hornady's were. I'm gonna call Midway tomorrow and see what the story is.

Dang, if I knew that they made 'em, I surely would have purchased some. Don't believe it's been mentioned on this site before, but my google-fu is weak on this computer. (Work issued)

Yup, but then I got distracted and ended up buying a couple of cases of 308 ammo on another site...It doesn't do to let me go shopping on the "internets"!

There was an explosion last year at the Privi plant, and alot of the Hornady Surplus ammo was made in that plant. Hornady was buying Privi ammo and sticking it in their boxes. They should be back on line later this year. The 7.7 Jap was also affected, along with the 7.5 Frenchicon and the Swissicon ammo...Better buy it where You can and re load. It may not be back in production until August...Or so the story goes....

Prvi is back on line and filling up some of the distributors' stock. No worries there, thank goodness, but prices are creeping(or running) upwards on new ammo of all sorts again.

That's why I got distracted- found a couple of good deals! Jumping on some whilst it's at current prices. (Plus, it keeps evaporating!)

ETA: Having already spent a chunk, I just found the same ammo at a better price, by quite a bit! So, do I dig the hole (in my wallet) a little deeper?

I've also noticed that Hornady .303 Britishicon bullets in all weights seems to be non-existent.
