My first M1 Carbine was a Plainfield. I got it from a local gunshop for $75 sometime in the late 70s. When I got Ruth's first little book about M1 Carbines and found out that it wasn't G.I. I traded it to Midway[ they were just a little gunshop then] for a Inland. I don't remember for sure, but I think paid another $50 more. That would have been inthe late 70s or early 80s. Bill

My first.
I bought mine on 8-3-90. It's a Winchester and I paid $127.20. I love my carbeen. I also had the m1 carbine bb gun and I also watched Combat. Oh the good old days.

I bought my first one, a Saginaw S'G' in May of 2003. A worker at a local sawmill had died and he owned quite a few guns. His only family was located in the Midwest and when they came to settle the estate, they sold all of his guns to a local dealer. There were several Garands and Carbines in the sale. When I got to the gun store I think there were maybe three of the carbines left to chose from. Naturally, I picked the one that looked "brand new." Live and Learn! It's an Arlington Ord rebuild with upgraded parts and all new wood. It was $425 plus $10 for the background check. I'll never know what the others were, because I never gave them a second glance after I saw the "new one." - Bob

The first one I ever purchased was an Inland M1A1 all original and unmolested in Sept. 1960. Paid $75.00 for it.
