A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... My first M1icon Carbine was a Plainfield. I got it from a local gunshop for $75 sometime in the late 70s. When I got Ruth's first little book about M1 Carbines and found out that it wasn't G.I. I traded it to Midway[ they were just a little gunshop then] for a Inland. I don't remember for sure, but I think paid another $50 more. That would have been inthe late 70s or early 80s. Bill

I bought mine on 8-3-90. It's a Winchester and I paid $127.20. I love my carbeen. I also had the m1 carbine bb gun and I also watched Combat. Oh the good old days.

I bought my first one, a Saginaw S'G' in May of 2003. A worker at a local sawmill had died and he owned quite a few guns. His only family was located in the Midwest and when they came to settle the estate, they sold all of his guns to a local dealer. There were several Garands and Carbines in the sale. When I got to the gun store I think there were maybe three of the carbines left to chose from. Naturally, I picked the one that looked "brand new." Live and Learn! It's an Arlington Ord rebuild with upgraded parts and all new wood. It was $425 plus $10 for the background check. I'll never know what the others were, because I never gave them a second glance after I saw the "new one." - Bob

The first one I ever purchased was an Inland M1A1icon all original and unmolested in Sept. 1960. Paid $75.00 for it.
