    Webley Mark II revolver

    I recently acquired a Webley Mk2 revolver,( unfortunately converted to 45 AR/ACP. darn it.)
    serial number 401XX. Any idea of manufacture date ?
    grips are attractive, but not original.
    Back strap markings which I assume are issue history are

    Nice looking piece. Love the Webley and Enfield Break Actions. No help on marks though. May be a Boer War Piece....

    1894-7, I think were roughly the years of production. (Or acceptance for production, which isn't always the same thing.)
