    Bzzyman, good points.
I did ask my local smith about a swap-over, and he said it would probably run between $100-300, depending upon whether he could save the barrel; possibly the "notch the recoil lug out" that Chuck mentioned, I don't really know. If I ever run across a good 03A3 receiver or barreled-receiver I might take the swap on as a project. In the meantime, your idea about posting factual and reliable reports, with serial numbers and markings is completely valid. Many of us would benefit from the info. I hope anyone who has that info will post it.

I know this is an old thread... However, how hard headed can one person be and still be among the living...?

johnnyc isn't a troll, however, he isn't very smart about facts, figures and experienced gunsmiths...!

Thank you for your untimely, useless, yet insulting lack of any type of contribution.

Guys don't realize the Santa fe guns are nice parts kits. Chuck will swap out your barrel for free? Does it get any better then that? Find yourself a nice stong cardboard box and ship it Monday AM. Good luck.
