A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. It is the real deal and uncommon. It was one of the variations tired before the PE was adapted in 1933. The PEM was adopted in 1937 and lacked an external focus adjustment.

These early Sovieticon scopes were of Zeiss design, built on Zeiss purchased, licenced and manufactured machinery and are very high quality. They were real trouble for the Germans from 41-45.

Thanks for the correction - I always get the two mixed up, not a Sovieticon scope collector.

Interesting how the tube is joined with four screws on ocular side of the "turret".

The No32 detent system was far better than those silly little locking knobs. And the inability to read the graduations without lifting your head up and over the scope must have been a real nuisance that cost some Soviets their lives. No way to adjusting in the dark by 'clicks' either, like the No32.

Pity the No32 didn't have the optics the PEs did though.
