Thumbs up For CAFDFW & other aircraft buffs

    Hey Harlon,

You will definitely like this, if you haven't already seen it. I like the music also. The bit about "handmade, without electrical machines" (look closely at the beginning, it is a quick screen that doesn't last long) really made it for me.

If only I had the time and a source of income to sustain me..........

    Enjoy,

    Emri

    Thank you Emri!

That is nothing short of amazing! Every detail from to the rivets to the nose art looked perfect.
I hope that aircraft ends up in a museum where it can be appreciated.

I've seen some wonderful scale models at some of the shows I've attended but I have never seen anything with that much detail.

One of the fly-in's we had there was a gentleman who brought in two Panzers that were amazing.
    Everything in them operated.

    ~ Harlan

Also thought some might like to see an authentic B-17, the CAF 'Texas Raiders' at a show in Burnet, TX

There's also a shot of our R4D (Navy C-47) and crew when we were at the show in Burnet a gentleman from the Netherlands took and emailed me. (I'm the runt third from the left)

The old-timer CAF 'Colonel' still wearing the traditional CAF 'grays' to my right was training me to be crew chief then.

Chuck passed away a couple of years ago and I still miss him. He retired from the Navy and was a real crew chief for R4D's and Corsairs while he was in the Navy. Chuck knew more about the R4D and our Corsair than most people will probably ever know. He always smiled and even though he was in his 70's he could still climb all over the planes and diagnose problems in minutes.
