P1907 sanderson

got this sanderson hookie and was wondering how much i should "Let it go" for? its dated 12/09, has all the relevant stamps, no oil hole and looks like it would have seen some the battles of its era. in its condition and without a scabbard ive been told about $350 to $550 seems ok, any thoughts?

I sold one locally on Ebay and was only able to get about $400 Cdn for it. It was rougher and was dark overall not like yours. It did however have the correct scabbard.

Thats an interesting coincidence considering the recent discussion concerning the SOS marking. Your bayonet is the exact same maker and date of manufacture as my example that I posted there.
Yours has been sold from British service and then used by Australian forces. The markings stamped on the crossguard indicate early Victoria state ownership which later became 3rd Military District.

Small world huh? its a bit of a relief to see that one,as someone mentioned that the 09 year stamp looks different to the month stamp on mine, suggesting how easily to fake one would be, but i can see that it looks identical to yours... i wonder why that is.. i got mine about 8 years ago off a mate who found it in a relatives garage.i paid $50 for it and had no idea whatsoever of its significance. only a few months ago i found out about it in detail... this weekend there is a military arms fair here and im going to take it there, im sure it will generate some interest among collectors there as they can see it in person and evaluate it properly.

No yours is definitely the genuine article, they must have come out of the same batch that were shipped out from England. Mine has a Tasmania mark and yours Victoria.
Its a bit of a shame about the condition but its still worth quite a bit. In real good condition it would sell for around $1000, but as is I would expect maybe $4-500 tops. Cheers.

This P07 Wilkinson is dated 5 '09 with the A. Cooper scabbard dated 1911. Also marked D.T. which I believe is the 54th Foot Dorsetshire Reg Attachment 21642Attachment 21641

The recognised mark for the Dorsetshire Regiment was Dors or if it was a TA unit, it'd be Ds

Nice example, thats the Dorsetshire Reg (DT) marking, the R, I think stands for, RESERVE and the number is the the weapon number.

Not according to the 1900 to 1944 Equipment Regulations relating to the issue and making of small arms and accoutrements Big Duke. The abbreviation for the Dorsetshire Regiment is Dors and the TA/reserves abbreviation is Ds. The former County Volunteers units are always prefixed by the letter V as V-Ds. I've just had another look. The initials DT don't feature in out order of battle during that period
