A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. April fool!- Me, that is...

Well, the ammo is 7.62x51 Prvi Partisan...just arrived- that makes 5200 rounds in the last month- stocking up before the price goes up- Besides, it evaporates!

Went and bought a Browning B92 in .44 Mag. Which is completely not Milsurp, unless you follow the tenuous tie-in to the designer. Haven't had a good '92 in a long time, and 38-40 was a bother. Besides, I bundled the rifle with a roto-tiller and a gas powered edger down at the pawn shop, so the price wasn't hideous.

Well, it's not exactly milsurp (many of the parts are- including most of a '90s USMC match rifle, just not the receiver!) and it's not exactly new- even to me! The scope and bracket I've previously and recently owned- as well as the receiver.

After a few swap offs, the opportunity arose to get the scope assembly back and the rifle sort of came along with it. NOT the configuration I was intending to pursue on this platform next, but...

This platform continues to grow on me as a premier 7,62 cal. slug thrower even with its bedding dramas and tendency to grow heavy beyond reason (like this one!). In it's original form it's just a great GP rifle.

L&S Ultra 10x M2 on early ARMS bracket and split mount. Reticle works quite well w/ FGGM 168gr HPBT match ammo!

You may have seen this scope on another rifle in an older Range Report- "recycling" can be fun!

    1906 DWM Gewehr 98

Yes, I know it's now May, but this was an April purchase, and I only got a chance this weekend to really take a close look at her, so feel it best posted here.

    1906 DWM Gewehr 98.

Bolt m/m, but bolt completely matches itself and is about 300 numbers off the rifle. Otherwise, rifle is completely matching and in its original stock.

It's my only "stripey" stock milsurp, and a lovely piece of walnut it is, in my view.

Regimental marks on the marking disk on the buttstock and on the quick release sling swivel.
