    No.5 Mk1 Front Sight

Could someone with a No.5 Mk1 help me with providing the rough dimension from the centerline of the bbl to the top of the front sight blade...or, from the top of the bbl at the rear of the flash hider to the top of the front sight blade, including the diameter of the bbl at this point. Thanks in advance.

At a rough guess, I'd say that it is EXACTLY 1" above the centre line of the bore when you have a size 0 blade fitted. With a No5 handy, you can work what you need to know out quite easily.

Thanks Peter, but I don't have a No.5 handy...it's the reason I asked. What additional heighth would a 1.9 blade (tallest?) give over a 0.0 blade?

I don't think that there is a 1.9 blade........... They start at 0 and increase by .015 so as to read
0 +15 +30 +45 +60 and so on (and similarly to the minus end)

But if you mean a +9 blade, then that is 1.090" above the centre line of the bore. So the answer to your question is that it'd give .090" increase in height. We weren't permitted to use a .090 blade on No4's and 5's. Maybe you ought to read an earlier thread about foresight blades and block bands

Just curious. Springfield Sporters lists the following:
    BLADE, FRONT SIGHT, SPECIFY SIZE (-0.15, -0.3, 0.0, 075, 076, 114, 06, 03, 0.45, 1.9, 1.52)

Thanks, I'll search the thread about foresight blades and block bands
